Medical Student COVID-19 Action Network (MSCAN)

Description

We created the Medical Student COVID-19 Action Network (MSCAN) on March 22. Our goal was to present a unified database of COVID-19 service opportunities started by U.S. medical schools. Using online visuals, we sought to make this diverse range of data organized and accessible to the public. Our ultimate hope was to unite health professions in the fight against COVID-19, help displaced students serve from home, combine resources nationwide, support healthcare workers, and promote the exchange of ideas. The website was launched on March 30, and to date, it contains 545+ service opportunities organized by 106+ schools in 40 states (plus Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico). Our team has now moved on to the next phase of the work: releasing concise educational videos on COVID-19 for the general public. Over the past months, we have been immensely grateful to hear back from many who have benefited from this project and felt inspired to serve.
