Program Objectives and the Entrustable Professional Activity (EPA) Framework

Description

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) published a draft set of 13 core Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) for entering residency. Ten schools are piloting these 13 EPAs within their curriculum. But, the 13 EPAs do not encompass all aspects of a physician's job. Future the EPAs will likely include additions and modifications. For programs that wish to use EPAs now to drive curriculum at the program objective level, additional EPAs must be developed. We established a sub-committee of our Curriculum Committee, encouraging participation and buy-in.
