Training Medical Students in Community Health: A Novel Required Fourth-Year Clerkship at the University of Rochester

Description

This article describes a clerkship in community health at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Public Health. The clerkship includes didactic instruction and a mentored community health project. Clerkship evaluation outcomes are also described. This article is included in the April 2008 "Population Health Education" theme issue of Academic Medicine.
